I’ve wanted to try Rent the Runway for a long time. My friend, Brett, had success using the designer clothing rental service, so I thought my bridal shower/bachelorette party would be the perfect event to test it out.
The RTR website has a great interface and filter system, and you can even tag your favorite dresses. Once you find a dress that is available on your event date, you can select a backup size for free. Rental costs range from $40 – $200+. The RTR team even calls first-time renters to ask if they have questions.
My dress arrived on time in a black garment bag. Like a netflix rental, the dress came with a pre-paid envelope for easing returning. I chose the Tibi High Tea Dress for it’s soft colors and feminine lace details. The dress fit perfectly. There were a few small stains on one of the sleeves, but my hair covered up most of the imperfections. I’d definitely rent again! How about you, have you ever used RTR or a service like it?
Omaha Fashion Week was two weeks ago, and my lovely friend, Megan Hunt from Princess Lasertron, asked me to contribute to her VIP gift bags. I obviously wanted to spread the word about Lovestru.ck, but I knew I needed to choose my communication medium wisely.
In order to tie in fashion with the bridal industry, I decided to create faux engagement rings. Each ring box was wrapped with the following message:
Here for you when you receive the ultimate accessory.
I attached my contact information and placed a huge heart-shaped ring in each box. I hope it was a fun surprise for those who received the gift bags!
I’m currently in Jamaica, but I wanted to show you some of my favorite wedding inspiration from last week.
Rich and I leave for Jamaica tomorrow (at 6:00 AM…). We’re both ready for some fun in the sun and tropical drinks (hopefully with little umbrellas). I have a few posts scheduled for next week, so stop back for some great wedding inspiration.

Unfortunately many women make a common mistake on their wedding day
I first discovered Zara when I was living in Barcelona in 2007. Most of the clothing I purchased on my study abroad trip came from this Spanish clothing and accessories retailer. There were free-standing stores in almost every shopping center in Spain, and some stores were mere blocks away from each other.
The US got their first Zara stores in New York (and later Chicago) two or three years after I returned from Europe. It wasn’t until yesterday when Zara launched their US online shop that those of us in smaller metropolitian areas could shop the brand as well. I had the launch date marked on my calendar for about a month, so I immediately browsed the collection yesterday morning. Here are my favorite Zara finds:
I can finally put the “CK” in Lovestru.ck! Rich and I got married this past Sunday in Omaha, NE and in my opinion, it couldn’t have been more fun! I have numerous wedding posts planned, but you’ll have to wait to read them until I get the pictures back from our photographer. In the meantime, check out the lovely wedding inspiration I pulled from weddings featured last week in the bridal blogosphere:
It’s here! It’s here! After planning for 20 months, I will marry my lovely fiance, Rich, on Sunday. I’m surprisingly calm. I cannot wait to share all the details with you. See you next week!

I’m getting married in three days, and I thought these pictures were the perfect inspiration for my upcoming nuptials. They are saturated in the pure and true love that these newlyweds share for each other. Yes I love weddings full of design and fashion, but most importantly, I love Richard Donald Kalasky more than anything else in the world, and I am so glad to have to opportunity to share that with my nearest and dearest friends and family.
