Featured on Style Me Pretty

Happy Thanksgiving!

Our Lovestru.ck team is so grateful to get to work with some amazing talent in the Midwest. We recently helped Jocelyn and Paul bring together some tremendous wedding vendors in both Nebraska and Kansas for their wedding in October. I’m happy to announce that their wedding was featured on Style Me Pretty yesterday!

Check out the feature here.

Jenna + Bill

blog-post

This wedding was a true labor of love: Jenna’s dress made by her mom (with pockets!), the copper chandelier made by the her father, the gorgeous stationery made by the couple’s friends, and the custom cake topper made by the bride’s brother all added a special touch to a reception that was full of genuine love and excitement for Jenna and Bill.

Check out more photos in our portfolio!

A big thank you to The Mullers, Shamrock & Thistle, AAA, Butterfly Bakery and of course the staff at Lied Lodge.

Liz + Jason

Liz and Jason are a beautiful and genuine couple. They dated throughout high school at Westside and colleget at TCU, so after many years together, their families were anxiously waiting the arrival of a proposal and a wedding.

As you can tell from her stunning dress, Liz has great personal style. I had the pleasure of taking her polished and chic ideas and transforming them into her dream wedding. Along with concepting the floral arrangements and overall aesthetic, we created some fun stationery items such as the wood-mounted menus and hanging place cards. Once again, Mark from Shamrock & Thistle blew me away by flooding the head table with purple blooms and arranging Liz’s perfect peony bridal bouquet.

All of the photos were taken by the talented Geoff Johnson.

Alexis + Luke

Alexis and Luke both attended college at UNK, but they met for the first time in the Czech Republic while studying abroad in the same travel program. They immediately fell in love and started dating, and they continued their relationship through their adventures in Europe, trips around the US, and the rest of their undergrad years. They began law school together in 2010, and they married right before their final year of coursework.

Alexis and Luke have such a great love story, so we included a lot of personal elements in their wedding. The couple’s welcome table included photos from their travels that we framed and matted with antique maps, and their guests left messages on Eastern European postcards as an alternative guestbook.

We mixed Alexis’ love of preppy navy stripes with soft and romantic lace and baby’s breath. The biggest design feature of the reception was the midnight snack table. Alexis and Luke LOVE candy and “treats”, so we went all out and created a sugar rush buffet.

We loved working with this beautiful couple, and we wish them many years of happiness and adventures!

Sara + Scott

Sara and Scott were such a wonderful couple to work with and get to know while planning their wedding. Sara is in grad school and writes a fabulous food blog, and Scott is an innovative (that’s an understatement) artist. I was immediately on board with Sara and Scott’s vision for their wedding – a simple ceremony at Mark’s Bistro with a relaxed backyard reception the following day. We wanted to recreate the look and feel of the European sidewalk cafes, so we brought in mismatched furniture from Nostalgia and we placed a chalkboard sandwich board sign in their front yard to welcome guests to their home. We really transformed Sara and Scott’s backyard, but the star of the show was the food. The Grey Plume was beyond amazing. I can still taste the chocolate macarons.

The Mullers captured the entire wedding, and like always, I’m in love with the photos. See for yourself:

The Lovestruck Event Recap: Part II

We decided to have two mock tablescapes at the event to showcase how our vendors work together. The first tablescape was created by the Lovestru.ck team, Shamrock & Thistle, and Inclosed (the little cakes were made by Butterfly Bakery). We wanted to create something colorful and innovative but not overwhelming, so we balanced our bright colors with natural wooden elements like the farm table. True to this year’s theme, we used polka dots and stripes in the stationery, accessories and even in the floral arrangements (did you see that floral table runner!?!). Here’s what we came up with:

The second table was designed by Found and Flora and Porridge Papers. I love the natural and laid-back style mixed with a touch of whimsy. Porridge Papers brought in a picnic table, and the bicycle get-away vehicle and s’mores were adorable!

Lindsay + Andrew

Over the next few weeks, I’m going to be sharing a lot of photos from the weddings we designed this summer. I thought it would be best to start with a couple that is very special to me. When my sister Lindsay got engaged to Andrew almost two years ago, I was excited by the opportunity to work with a couple who completely trusts my design skills and would allow me to run with their vision and dreams for their wedding. We decided to style the wedding around Lindsay’s love of Europe, especially the romantic city of Paris. We used antique gold vessels from Nostalgia, and Mark from Shamrock and Thistle filled them with gorgeous blooms in their ivory, blush, peach, and black color palette.

True to Parisian culture, we create a patisserie filled with whimsical cupcakes and authentic European sweets like Paris Brest, Macarons, and Opera Cake from Delice European Bakery. We also brought in Lindsay and Andrew’s obsession with their cat Monkey. (I refer to their cat as my nephew, because they talk about him like he’s their child.) We referenced him in the Patisserie name which translates to “The Little Kitten Pastry Shop”. We also placed a custom sticker of a cat with a word bubble that read “Miam Miam” (which is French for “yum yum”) on the inside of the take home patisserie boxes as a little surprise for guests.

It was a beautiful wedding, so please enjoy all of the stunning images below captured by Love Equals.
