Happy Weekend

{a href="http://weheartit.com/entry/9334186" target="_blank"}Image: We heart it {/a}

We only have one weekend left until Rich and I get married. It’s hard to believe it’s almost here. We’ve been engaged for about 20 months, so I am completely ready for our special day!

My sister and my mom are throwing me a bridal shower/bachelorette party this weekend, and it will be so nice to relax and catch up with friends. I’m incredibly lucky to have so many wonderful friends and family in my life.

I have AMAZING news to share with you next week. Expect a post on Wednesday or Thursday. See you on Monday!

Register for This

As I mentioned earlier, it was Rich’s 25th birthday on Sunday, and we were trying to remember what I gave him last year on his birthday. After searching through our pictures, we realized I gave him a bar cart, so Rich could practice his mixology skills. I found a great rolling cabinet on craigslist, and I sanded, stained and tiled it. I then equipped it with bar tools such as hand juicers, wine keys and decanters. I think bar carts and bar accessories like the ones I listed below are a great addition to any registry, and experimenting with making different drinks can be a fun activity to do as a couple.

Where there's a helpful smile…

Lindsay Lannan RD, LMNT

…in the Fort Omaha Hy-vee Health Market aisle!

Ok so my updated jingle doesn’t quite fit with the original tune, but I just wanted to announce that my wonderful sister, Lindsay, will be the new Hy-vee Dietician at the Fort Omaha location starting this October. She’s gonna rock it! Love you Winny!

And no worries – she’ll still be contributing bi-weekly to the Lovestru.ck blog with her Fit Friday Posts.

Check out Lindsay’s past work with Hy-vee here.

Rich turned 25 yesterday, and I made this cake for him to take to work while he was recovering from his Bachelor Party he had the night before. I hope you enjoy it Nebraska Global!

Inspiration: Primary Petals

I featured Primary Petals two weeks ago in my Wedding Awards post. I immediately knew I wanted to showcase the floral arrangements Samantha Santana designed for Diana and Josh’s wedding. Her flower creations range from bohemian styles to vintage and even whimsical. I think you’ll agree that Primary Petals’ creativity and ingenuity is beyond amazing. Read about Samatha’s business below!

In early 2009, my husband James and I were asked to help a friend with her wedding flowers because we were the “artsy friends.” Needless to say, the flowers were a hit and a flow of requests for wedding flowers hit us. James and I come from a fine art/graphic design background, so we started using our knowledge in those fields to design and style events with seasonal flowers and as many recycled/found containers and props as possible. We also decided to customize each wedding to each couple, which has been successful because we have never done the same design twice.

Luckily we work in Southern California with some of the most creative clients around, and they openly invite James and my crazy ideas and color schemes. Our favorite clients are those whose ideas seem impossible, such as floating arrangements for a pool or a Super Mario themed wedding. We like the challenge and opportunity to make such ideas possible. We also love the DIY crowd because we want our clients to be involved in the creative process and for their finger prints to be all over their wedding.
