The design for Michelle and Eric’s wedding was inspired by Michelle’s love of dandelions and bohemian sensibility. We wanted to create a dandelion field around the welcome area, so guests could write their wishes (another dandelion reference) in their guest book. Guests were greeted by a wild display of alium and scabiosa pods floating around a hand painted wooden sign. We chose these flowers as they mimicked the look of dandelions. The escort card display was draped in white voile evoking the light and airy quality of dandelions. Guests enjoyed kraft paper bags of s’mores and jalapeño cheddar popcorn while reading fun facts about Michelle and Eric and listening to guitarist Chris Saub play their favorite love songs.
Along with their guests, Michelle and Eric enjoyed dinner featuring kale salad, mushroom and brie grilled chicken, beef tenderloin medallions and gourmet macaroni and cheese at their sweetheart table. Their table was a focal point in the room; the backdrop mimicked the light draping from the escort display. Their table was set with gold flatware, colored goblets and a floral garland. The reception was filled with lively dinner conversation and memorable toasts. In lieu of giving a speech, Michelle’s father sang a special song he had written for the newlyweds.
Guests danced the night away under a canopy installed by Blooms and Bouquets made up of wisteria, white paper lanterns, and Maskros pendants, again chosen for its resemblance to dandelions.
